[Subversive Radio Podcast] The Anabaptists: Part 2: "Sacral Society"

What is a "Sacral Society" and what lessons can we learn today from the Anabaptists?

This may not be the best place to write this, but since it is a post dated on what this year is referred to as Easter weekend, I thought it would be okay.

First, I wanted to say thank you for your blog. I read/listen to it regularly and appreciate the time you put into it and the information/ideas/wisdom you have published on it.

Second, I hoped you might be willing to address the conflicts of Easter with what is written in the Bible. Examples: Jesus was dead for 3 days, but most Christians say he died on Friday and raised 2 days later on Sunday. Easter seems to be the derivative of a goddesses' name, possibly the mother of Tammuz who Ezekiel 8:14 speaks of (not in a good way). If Easter is a goddesses' name wouldn't that offend the Lord if we celebrated Him by calling it her day. Easter bunny / egg laying rabbit / coloring eggs, aren't these all pagan origin, but many Christians participate in them. There are many more examples I could list, but I hope you understand what I am saying. There are similar problems with Christmas (the date / practices / activities / etc.).

If you are willing and have time, I would appreciate hearing what you have to say on the topic.

Thank you! Ryan

I might record a podcast on the Easter question, but it's not a high priority since Easter is over now and since I have just started a new podcast series on the Anabaptists.

But I do appreciate your comments and your questions.
