REGISTER TODAY: Jesus Untangled: North Carolina

EARLY BIRD REGISTRATION IS JUST $25

ABOUT THE EVENT
Join authors Keith Giles (founder of Pacifist Fight Club) and Herb Montgomery (founder of Renewed Heart Ministries) as they lead an important discussion about faith, politics and American Christianity.
DIFFERENT PERSPECTIVES
While Herb and Keith both know and love one another - and have served together in various capacities over the years - this event will be the first time they have ever presented differing viewpoints on the main theme.
Keith's latest book, "Jesus Untangled:Crucifying Our Politics To Pledge Allegiance To The Lamb", takes the position that mixing faith and politics compromises the Gospel of the Kingdom and distracts Christians from their one true calling and purpose - to change the world by living and preaching the Gospel that transforms people from the inside out.
Herb's perspective is that Christians are called to stand in solidarity with the oppressed and to share in their sufferings - even as far as advocating alongside those marginalized voices - and working to provide solutions that are both spiritual and political.

THIS IS NOT A DEBATE
While Keith and Herb both take a slightly different perspective on this issue, they are not engaging in a formal debate. This is a conversation, and it is one that they both invite you to have with them at this special event.
In these unique and highly interactive series of presentations, Keith and Herb will communicate their views in detail and invite attendees to ask questions and engage with them on the issues discussed.
Our hope is that everyone will leave feeling encouraged, inspired and challenged to live out their faith in a more radical and intentional way.
How do we impact our culture? What is the best way to serve our community and love our neighbors as ourselves? What would Jesus call us to do as ambassadors of His Kingdom?
Can we really change the world through politics? Does the Kingdom of God advance through political means? Are justice and politics the same, or are they two different things?
These questions are important to address. Our mission as a Church is vital to the culture and to the Body of Christ.
Join us as we wrestle with these questions - and many more - on August 19th.

About our facilitators:
Herb Montgomery is an internationally recognized speaker, and director of Renewed Heart Ministries. He is the author of the book, “Finding the Father” and is passionate about following the radical, non-violent, enemy-loving example of Jesus, and that includes speaking up about the injustices faced by racial minorities, the poor and the LGBTQ community.
Keith Giles is an author, blogger, teacher and servant of Jesus living in Orange County, California. He and his wife, Wendy, and their two sons started a house church in 2006 where 100% of the offering goes to help the poor in their community and no one takes a salary and no one leads the meeting except Jesus.
He is also the founder of Pacifist Fight Club and has contributed chapters to other books, including "Simple Church:Unity In Diversity" and "Renewing The Christian Mind: Interviews, Essays and Talks by Dallas Willard".

CINCINNATI: BEFORE AND AFTER

How can I summarize what God did this weekend in Cincinnati?
As someone who makes a living as a writer, it's not often I find myself at a loss for words.
Not that the event itself was something so remarkable that no one could explain it. It was a simple gathering of people - around 20 of us - who came together to hear more about Jesus and His Kingdom and our place in that Kingdom.
Not that the connections we made with one another were so unusual or out of the ordinary that the universe had to stop and reorient itself. We simply reconnected with people we hadn't seen in a long time, and made new connections with people who were family all along, but we just didn't know it until this weekend.
For me, the focus was that three hour block of time on Saturday. That was what I thought I was there for. That's what I had prayed about and prepared for. All my energies were on the presentation, the conversations and the "results" of that time.
What God showed me was that I was really in Cincinnati for everything that came before and after that window of time.
The private conversations. The tearful testimonies. The sincere expressions of love and affection. The gratitude expressed. The laughter around a table where a meal was shared together. The prayers for one another around a quiet living room.
That's why I was there.

And I am so blessed, my friends. I am so blessed and so honored to be so very loved.
Thank you, everyone, for making the drive, for taking the time, for giving your talent, and your resources to surround me with your love and support this weekend.
I know the Lord is doing something truly wonderful in Cincinnati. I know that He is stirring people up and nourishing seeds - some of them planted long ago - to grow towards the light and break through the soil.
The Kingdom of God is advancing in this place. The life and light and love of Jesus is pouring down in great abundance.
People there can smell it, like the scent of a rainstorm on the breeze. They are opening like flowers to receive the waters of new life and transformation is at hand.
I cannot wait to see what the Lord is about to do in Cincinnati, Ohio.
Just wait and see.....

Unconference Nashville - June 23-25, 2017
Are you a Christian who's done with organized church, but still wants Christian community? Are you a pastor or other church leader who's still called to the organized church, but wants to get out of the way and let God take control? Do you long to see a revival where Christians will once again be known for how they love their neighbor, rather than who they vote for?
If any of these questions stirs something in you, then come explore the answers with us! Let’s spend the weekend in Christian fellowship and conversation, as we seek the Lord about how to embrace Christianity without churchianity, to rediscover what it means to be his ekklesia on this earth, and how to untangle our faith from our politics, in order to become effective ambassadors of his kingdom once again.
However, please know: this isn't your typical Christian conference! In fact, that’s why we’re calling it an unconference. We’re not looking for passive audience members who want to sit quietly and listen to experts. Yes, there will be a few brief talks to spark some great conversation. But that’s the key. We want real conversation where we can learn from one another. We also want to carve out time to let God speak to us.
We can't wait to worship and fellowship and wait on the Lord together. We hope this will be a life-changing event for everyone. However, SEATS ARE LIMITED, so SIGN UP NOW!
