We need to talk. We need to build one another up. We need to love our neighbors. This is such a good thing that house churches do. There is no example of an ideal physical church. It gets to the root of what is church? What does Jesus want us to do?
First they waited for the Holy Spirit to anoint them on the day of Pentecost, and then they went around healing the sick, raising the dead, casting out demons, and such. When they did this 2000 were saved one time and 5000 another. After this happened, they formed house churches all over to build relationships and make disciples. The churches met with the apostles in the temple regularly.
Meanwhile, the citizens heard the gospel and knew of the power of Jesus and would drag their sick into the streets so the shadow of the apostles would touch them and heal them. Do you think Jesus wants our shadows to heal people? Do you think Jesus wants to anoint us with power to do all those things? The world must experience the Savior like this. I heard some years back someone say something like "Is your Jesus the little Jesus or the big Jesus"? I say very much both. We have to reach the world yet also stop for the one. Let's go get em guys. Bring in the harvest.Vickyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01900390037497493038noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9926207.post-32854862723014134722012-12-18T14:39:22.871-08:002012-12-18T14:39:22.871-08:00a house church does not have to meet in a house sp...a house church does not have to meet in a house specially in free and democratic countries, except in totalitarian countries where religion is outlawed, yes the Christians have to meet in a house so as not to be visible. but in our case, we can meet in a safe, accessible and comfortable place. It's time for our 'small group' get serious, thanks for the inspiration!
Just in case a brick and mortar church develops out of your mission then it was done organically with authenticity and you'll have the assurance that God is in it. love your blog!
